Still in summer mode? Time to plan a Christmas workshop.

We’ll admit it: we were still mentally sitting in the sunshine for quite a while. Now the days are getting shorter and Christmas is getting closer. Time to get something lovely on the table.

We’re looking for Hosts in Leipzig to run creative Christmas workshops in November and December. Can you make jewellery, pour candles, print on paper or work a little chocolate magic? Show others how it’s done.

Let’s give the annual gift hunt a little festive feel-good twist: making things together, chatting over something warm and leaving with a present that makes you grin before you’ve even wrapped it. Made by hand. For one particular person. You’re allowed to feel a little proud of that.

“I made this for you.”

Picture your workshop table scattered with yarn and scissors. You show everyone the first few steps. Someone carefully chooses a colour. Someone else holds their work up to the light. There are questions, first attempts and little adjustments. Hands grow more confident. Then someone lifts up their piece and smiles: I actually made that myself.

That quiet pride becomes part of the present. Wrapped up with it are an afternoon spent thinking about someone you love, a new skill and the excitement of watching them open it. Perhaps a seam is a little crooked. But the colour is exactly right, because someone remembered.

As a Host, you take someone from “Can I really do this?” to that proud smile. You share what you know, offer a tip when something gets tricky and celebrate when it works. Those are the afternoons we’d love to make room for in Leipzig.

What do you love making that someone could give?

Can you turn a few beads into a piece of jewellery, print on paper or make something lovely with a needle and thread? You could show people how to embroider an inside joke onto napkins, turn old necklaces into new pendants or make tiny winter scenes from the pages of old books. Even a handmade card can hold a whole story when it shows the place where a friendship began.

Or perhaps your craft smells of warm chocolate and spices. Your workshop could be about salted caramel truffles, pear chutney or a jar of seasoned salt named after the person it’s for. Candles, little clay bowls, sun catchers: we’d love to hear what you enjoy making and would be happy to teach.

Whether you already run workshops, have a shop of your own or want to share your hobby with a small group for the first time, we’d love to meet you and see what you’d like to make together.

Give your workshop a date

This is where you and your craft come in. Choose a photo, set a date, price and number of places, and send us your workshop details. Missing a venue? We’ll find one for you.

Let’s get things moving this October so the first workshops can start in November. A little planning now. Time to slow down together in the run-up to Christmas.
