A wild idea usually begins with one person
Suddenly, the idea is more than a thought. It finds its beat. Sometimes, all it takes is one person to make the first move and many others begin to follow.
That is exactly what we hope will happen on Friday, September 4, 2026. Kassia Tanz and 99active are sending Follow the Beat, a moving flash mob, through Leipzig.
Part dance, part city rally, part modern game of telephone, all moving to one shared rhythm.

How Follow the Beat works
At 5 pm, the music starts at Augustusplatz. A few people begin to dance. Someone stops to watch, someone smiles and someone simply joins in. Together, we move through Leipzig.
Every stop opens the way to the next one: we reveal the new meeting point there and share it on Instagram and TikTok at the same time. Join us from the beginning, catch up later or dance along for one stop.

The route unfolds one piece at a time. A dance becomes a clue, the clue leads to the next meeting point and the group grows at every stop. Where the beat will turn up next remains a little surprise.

Together, it becomes a choreography
Katrin of Kassia Tanz has created a fantastic choreography for Follow the Beat with a group of dancers. They get things started, show the moves and invite you in step by step. Some dance with plenty of energy, others keep it relaxed, and everyone brings their own style to the choreography.
Because Katrin’s favourite dance rule is for everyone: everyone can dance.
