A Light Weekend Full of Wonder

Sometimes it does not take much: a bit of summer breeze, shimmering soap mixture, and children who are ready to give something a try.

That is exactly what the Leipzig Children’s Festival felt like to us. As soon as the first giant bubbles floated into the air, children stopped, pointed upward, and wanted to try it for themselves. A moment later people were laughing, running, watching in awe, and starting all over again.

What we loved most was how open everything became with that very first attempt. Some children found the rhythm right away, others needed a few tries. But that was part of what made the weekend feel so light: there was no need to get it perfect, only to stay curious, feel the wind, and let yourself be surprised.

Between the fountain, the summer light, and many small wow moments, our stand became a place where people came together for a little while. Children cheered each other on, parents sometimes joined in, sometimes simply enjoyed the moment by watching, clapping, and laughing, and sometimes everyone learned together.

At the end, the children could take home a small postcard with the words “Blubbernde Grüße aus Leipzig,” ready to be painted, written on, and sent to someone they love. In that way, a little of the day gets to travel a bit further.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, joined in, and filled our stand with so much joy.

Author's Note

Written by the 99active team who were there at the festival.

At 99active, we love exactly these kinds of moments: real encounters, bright faces, and that light shared sense of wonder. It moves us how quickly something as simple as soap bubbles can bring people together.

When children, parents, and other people come together for a moment and try something side by side, the feeling often lasts beyond the day itself. That is where some of the best memories begin.
