What is 99active?
99active is a place for real in-person connection: small moments that matter—workshops, walks, courses, repair meetups, creative circles, food, nature, relaxation, or play. It's about what happens between people when someone shares something and invites others to join in: laughing together, learning something, seeing each other again, feeling welcome. Often a small format is enough—a workshop, a walk, a creative round, or a regular Loop.
Where is 99active active?
Right now we're local in Leipzig. That's where the first founding host community is growing; hosts build their Moment and Loop communities close to everyday life and where connection can start right outside the door.
Can I use 99active outside Leipzig?
Yes, please do. You can create and join Moments and Loops anywhere. We have to start somewhere, and right now that's Leipzig. If you host or take part elsewhere, you bring more meaning and real connection to your place—and you're the spark for real encounters there.
What makes 99active what it is — what is it about in practice?
99active stands for real closeness: doing things together in small, manageable groups. Many offers come from everyday life or from people nearby—for example a craft workshop, baking bread together, or a walk through the neighbourhood. People often meet regularly (Loop) or share special experiences (Moment). What stays after a meetup—stories, mood, appreciation—we call Afterglow. That's how a sense of connection grows that lasts beyond the moment.
What is a Moment?
A Moment is a one-off real experience at a fixed place and time: a host, a specific place, a point in life where you meet. It might also be called a workshop, course, hike, or activity—the idea is the same. Examples: a photo walk with a camera through the city, or an evening of “make and taste together” with fermenting. You might also do watercolours with coffee, a ferment-and-taste night, a clothes swap, or the line: let's fix two flat tyres together. In short: one honest line about what you're really doing together.
What is a Loop?
A Loop comes back on the same rhythm—about every week or every month. You get a series of individual sessions, and you only book the dates that work for you. That builds reunions and habit because others do the same. Examples: cook together every Thursday, craft at the café every Wednesday, or yoga in the park on the first Sunday of the month. Or yoga in the park over summer with a Loop from June to August, every Monday at 6:30 p.m. for an hour and a half each time: 99active turns that into individual bookable sessions—you don't have to maintain each date by hand.
What is an Afterglow?
An Afterglow is what stays after a Moment: a feeling, a memory, a short story, appreciation, quiet meaning, and belonging beyond stars and points. It makes visible what lingers after the session. Example: after a meetup you read a short mood or story from the community and sense what stayed, beyond that one date.
What is a host?
A host is the person who offers a Moment or Loop, invites you, and prepares and shapes the shared experience. That includes place, flow, materials, and often shopping beforehand, plus knowledge and experience you discover by taking part. It's about closeness and real exchange so you feel comfortable and can try or learn something without pressure.
How do I take part or book tickets?
Create an account with email, name, and password. Then you can take part, set likes, and book tickets, and later host yourself via the plus button. In the app this area is labelled Join.
How do I find offers that suit me?
When exploring, likes show what you enjoy, places show what's near you, and labels like Outdoor, Creative, or Food help you see step by step what fits. You also see what's on today or soon. In the time view you can move through this month and the next, and page backward to read Afterglows and catch up on stories.
How do I create a Moment or Loop myself?
Use the large plus button at the top to add a Moment (a single date) or a Loop (something recurring) and enter what happens, when, and where. In the app this section is called Offer. Labels such as Outdoor, Creative, or Food help the right people find you: the content is clear at a glance, and people who fit find you more easily. The clearer your offer, the more likely people who want it—tonight on a whim or on a regular basis—will find you. Typical flow: tap plus, choose Moment or Loop, fill in, and save.
What are the fees for paid tickets?
For a paid ticket, 80 percent goes to the host and 20 percent to 99active.
How and when do hosts get paid?
We pay the host share after each completed session to the account on file. That usually takes three to five days.
Can I offer Moments or Loops for free?
Yes. Then using the platform is free for you too. We often recommend at least one euro per ticket so guests take the booking more seriously and no-shows happen less often.
What happens with ticket refunds if something comes up?
Get in touch via our Support page. You'll get your money back, without the service fee.
Where are the rules on safety, boundaries, and data?
In the Terms of Service and the privacy statement.
How do I reach support?
Reach us through Support. We reply quickly and welcome a direct conversation with you.
Do you get to know me as a host in person?
Yes. We usually email you soon—first to get to know you and support you. Then we look for personal contact: sometimes a meeting or a visit, sometimes by joining one of your Moments ourselves. We want to make real encounters and exchange possible.
How do I find an idea for my first Moment?
Often the spark is a simple line—e.g. want to see how I do this, I know a hidden favourite spot, or I do this all the time anyway. That can become an upcycling workshop, bike repair, soap workshop, a guided walk in Leipzig, kids' crafting with wood, sprouts from an old mushroom box, a small creative round, or a neighbourhood action. What matters is clarity, invitation, and authenticity; perfection isn't required. If you have an idea, use our Support—we're happy to help you shape it.
How do I set up a Moment in practice?
On the home screen, choose the blue plus button and select Moment. Add a title—for example Smoothie workshop – fresh, fruity, and easy—a description of what you'll do together and who it's for, participant info on what's provided and what to bring, a cover image, the meeting point with address plus date, time, and duration, and ticket details for quantity and price. Pick one or two labels, such as Food or Creative, and save the Moment.
How do I set up a Loop?
Choose plus and then Loop when the activity should be bookable again and again. You set start, end, duration per session, interval weekly or monthly, weekday and time; 99active generates the individual bookable sessions from that. That fits, for example, monthly repair rounds, a regular smoothie workshop, seasonal kids' activities, or weekly walking groups.
